While growth continues since the September Quarterly update in residential rooftop solar indicating continued progress in the Electorate towards net zero energy, much remains to be done to ensure individuals play their part in the transition:

● While 27% of separate dwellings (excluding apartments) have rooftop solar, the penetration rate continues to trail that of NSW (39.2%) by 12.2%, the same as at September ‘23. For comparison, Wentworth Electorate is at 17.2% solar penetration as at 31 Dec ‘23, up from 14.8% a year earlier

● GreenPower Residential customer numbers have dramatically reduced in the third quarter of 2023, though consumption held up. Business customers and consumption continued to grow steadily. This continues to be potentially reflective of increased cost of living pressures.

● Battery electric vehicle uptake is growing steadily but off a very small base, reinforcing the importance of a) fuel efficiency standards to unlock supply and improve price competition and b) acceleration of public charging infrastructure (currently very low). Diesel vehicle registrations remain stable

● Gas consumption is in slight decline but connections remain stable. No new data available since September.
